The New Leader in the Next Generation of Laser Therapy

10/07/2011
We are excited to offer the latest technology to our patients with the Companion Therapy Laser!

What will the application of laser therapy do for your pet?

  • It allows your pet to heal faster after surgery or any traumatic injury.
  • It eases pain and improves mobility.
  • Disorders such as lick sores and chronic ear infections, that cause severe pain and discomfort, are instantaneously relieved.

This FDA cleared deep-penetrating light stimulates each individual cell to revitalize and reactivate its own healing processes through a biochemical cascade of events.

It allows relief of pain through the release of endorphins, and stimulates injured cells to heal at a faster rate.

 Our Staff

Team Bio:

Dr. Mary Thomas DVM:

graduated from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 1984. My first job was in my home town of Prosser working for Dr. Douglas Jackson doctoring horses and cattle as well as the small animals that I now limit myself to. In 1987 Dr. Sue Wedam and myself purchased the practice. I love the people and town of Prosser and cannot imagine living anywhere else! My staff and I are working hard to provide the pets of Prosser with high quality, compassionate medical care.
I currently share my home with my husband, four children, , a one-eyed Pomeranian (Rufie), a Golden Retriever (Puddles), a terrier mix (Nina), four cats (Steffie, Vader, D.J., and Lionel), a turtle (Tina), a horse (Candy), and a Quaker Parrot (Kiwi). I enjoy obedience training, skiing, needlework, scrapbooking, camping, and all the kids' activities. I am convinced that teaching our children to love and care for a pet will make them better members of our society.

Veterinarian: Celesté Lynn, DVM:

Celesté Lynn is one of Prosser Animal Hospital’s two full time veterinarians.  She has been with us since 2009.  Dr. Lynn supports Prosser Animal Hospital in the diagnosis and prevention of infectious disease, internal medicine, anesthesia and surgery, radiology, and dentistry.  Dr. Lynn is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Washington and has also sought additional licensure to offer health certificates for the transport of animals.  Dr Lynn continually seeks continuing education opportunities through her memberships in the American Veterinary Medical Association and Washington State Veterinary Medical Association, as well as the online Veterinary Information Network and others.

Dr. Lynn graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.  Prior to medical school, she earned her Bachelor’s of Zoological Science from Washington State University. Read more....

  (Tera):
Janel Hernadez

is a veterinary assistant certified for Companion Laser Therapy.  She also earned her Animal Health Certificate.  Janel moved to Prosser from California in 2008 and has worked at the Prosser Animal Hospital ever since.  Prosser is definitely very different compared to the stressful and fast-paced environment you find in California, which is something she truly appreciates. She loves the fact that here we can really see the four seasons come and go.  Janel has a special interest in radiology and loves our digital X-ray system!  She also speaks Spanish.  Janel enjoys camping, skiing, horseback riding, and watching movies.

  Mary Lewis Receptionist:

I have raised a family, been educated, and lived in the Yakima Valley since the age of three years. I came to the Prosser Animal Hospital as a receptionist in January of 1991. I love my job and the people I work with. I have learned many things about animals and their care since I came to PAH and the learning continues today. I have three children and five grandchildren. In 1982 our porch was graced with the presence of Miss Kitty, a grey and white feline. She came one day and has been there ever since. Also as part of my family is a five year old black Dachshund/Terrier hound pup named Oscar Meyer. He loves to play tether ball with my grandchildren. He often gets too excited and bites a hole in the ball.
Come visit us at PAH we would love to serve you and your pets!

  Miranda McCombs:

Miranda has always enjoyed working with animals and Prosser Animal Hospital allows her to pursue this passion.  She is a Prosser High School graduate and has taken two years of veterinary technician courses. Currently she is pursuing certifications as a laser therapy technician.  Miranda has many pets at home and looks forward to assisting you with your pet’s health care needs.

Julie

has lived her entire life in Prosser.  From childhood she has had a passion for animals and was originally a client here at Prosser Animal Hospital, taking care of MANY stray cats in need of a good home.  She and her husband now have five cats that she bottle fed as kittens.  Julie recently adopted her first ever puppy, a Chi-Chon named Luna.  After having cats her whole life, the puppy personality is quite a challenge but she is loving it.  Training as a veterinary assistant at PAH has been a wonderful learning experience and she enjoys every minute of it.  Julie has passed the courses to attain certification in Laser Therapy and enjoys easing pain in post-surgery patients, and those suffering from arthritis.  She also does our "lion clips" on long-haired cats.

Kalynn

grew up in Zillah and has lived in the valley most of her life.  Finding her dream job so close to home was amazing!  She has always had animals, and doesn’t expect that to ever change.  Kalynn feels that  being able to work in a job where she spends the day with pets and the people who love them is the best way to live life!  Kalynn has a lab mix, a kitten, and a horse.
